Wool Cloche
A cloche might just be the perfect hat. They rest on your head, so you don't get any weird indentations on your forehead, the brim is large enough to keep rain/sleet/snow out of your eyes and off of your face, they look great in any color, and their simple shape handles fun embellishments without becoming too busy.
