Doubtblush: Tour Table

We found this. We couldn't believe it was real - that people would pay cash-money for it when they could instead spend it on food or something awesome like this. But it IS real, and people DO buy it. There are just some things we'll never understand...

Imagine throwing a dinner party and spending the entire night worrying that your guests' drinks and bites might take a turn around the room, or end up on the floor. The Tour Table ($6528) seems more like a headache than practical piece of furniture. Designed by architect/designer Gae Aulenti - we're wondering if they at least have brakes.

Oh man, I really like this table! As an interior designer, I see it fitting really well in some eccentric spaces. But to each her own...

I like it, too, Jessica. It looks modern to me. Nice for a smaller space. As long as the wheels are turned different ways, I don't think it would roll around too much. I like the contemporary non-gender specific design. Seems like something that an active person/couple would like to accent a home.

My first though: OMG my boyfriend would LOVE this...

Second thought: OMG we would never be able to have people over again it is so awful what am I thinking!

I take the "rolling casters" description to mean that joints where the wheels affix to the table top rotate, NOT that the actual wheels roll along the ground. If I'm wrong there may be issues, but I can't imagine such an expensive, seemingly well-crafted piece is that dysfunctional. Still like it!!

This is way out of my price range, but really awesome. Definitely not doubtblush.
