Oooo, we love award-winning baubles...These Floral Dancing Drop Earrings ($57) won first place for Stephanie Pickford in the fine jewelery category in a competition run by the Victoria & Albert Museum and Ancestors of Dover, a historical merchandise designer. As a result, the University for the Creative Arts at Farnham student's earring and necklace set is now a part of the new Inspired! by collection at V&A.
It's no wonder that a beautifully ornate tapestry dressing screen attributed to French embroiderers circa 1710 inspired the bloom motif that's so full of movement. But how in the world does this Tudor movement relate to us? Well, Jonathan Rhys Meyers looks hot in his costumes on The Tudors thanks to the direct influence of British tapestries of this period, which were known for their ornate secular motifs like delicate flowers organized into extravagant patterns. You're welcome.
