Everyone, say a big, friendly Outblush welcome to our newest guest poster, Jennipher from Fit Bottomed Girls! If you've never been to this site, you're missing out on a wealth of great posts on exercise, nutrition, beauty products, and fitness industry news.
After seeing the Environmental Working Group's 2010 list of best and worst sunscreens --and having ALL of my sunscreens placed on the "worst" list (AKA high in hazardous chemicals)-- I decided to purchase and test out one of the highest ranked sunscreens: California Baby's SPF 30+ Sunscreen No Fragrance. ($20) This "baby" gets a No. 1 ranking from the EWG, is non-chemical, PABA-free, and is good for kids and sensitive adults (Read: me, a fair-skinned redhead).
I was really afraid that the sunscreen would be oily or goopy, but it absorbed well into my skin and had little to no fragrance, which I loved. (Who really wants to smell like a coconut, other than bartenders?) AND it protected me while I was out at the pool--a rare feat for any sunscreen because I'm so fair. The price tag ain't cheap at about $20, but for something that works that I don't have to question its safety, well, that's totally worth it for me!
