Getting this out of the way first: the logo is just creepy, dude. No way around it.
The happy people over at Smell Bent (who don't seem to hate us, even though we've repeatedly commented on the sheer volume of their scents) have gifted us with another sample that we thought we'd pass on to you - but figuratively, because there just isn't enough in this vial to go around. Totem Eclipse (Of The Heart) ($20) is the perfect fragrance for those who never find that quote-unquote-woody scents actually smell enough like wood to suit them. The focus here is on cedar and other evergreen notes, though it's sweetened with tropical champaca of all things. There's a musk component too (the Smell Bent trademark, pretty much) but it actually manages to stay in the background. We actually think this stuff is missing its calling as a candle or other sort of room fragrance, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice to wear - especially if you've got a plastic Christmas tree and miss the smell of the real thing.
(Yes, we KNOW that Christmas trees are usually firs, not cedars. Stop typing.)
Full disclosure: Outblush received a free sample of this product.
