In the tarot, the Moon (number 18 of the major arcana) is one of the creepy cards, symbolizing deception. The folks at Dolce & Gabbana, in promoting their new white floral scent, have apparently opted to stay away from the unsettling visuals of a giant moonface, howling beasts, and a lobster, in favor of Claudia Schiffer naked. Okay.
Advertising aside, 18 La Lune ($65) is the kind of dignified fragrance that makes us dream of being real adults some day. With a restrained green apple top note over a heart of lily and tuberose and a base of musk and orris, it's gentle, classy nostalgia fodder. According to the marketing copy, the Anthology perfumes are "neither male, nor female, nor unisex" - which would mean that they're room spray? Ignore that; in our opinion this scent is nothing but feminine. Spritz some on the next time you wear your good black dress to the symphony.
