We don't know; maybe it's because the only soaps available to us when we were growing up were Dove and Irish Spring, but there is something about a really fine bar of soap that gets our engines revving. We're absolutely nuts about Soap It Up Gourmet Soaps by Di ($4). Not kidding about this: we custom-order our own body soaps. We get to choose from 50 delectable scents, decide what a shape we want them to be (heart-shaped, anyone?), and whether we want them to be goat's milk or glycerine based. We actually had trouble deciding what we wanted so we went with an assortment; Almond Cherry for the guest bath, Patchouli Orange for our guy's shower, and Chanel #5 for our own. It's like having a friend in the upscale soap business. Irish Spring never left us feeling so pampered.

These soaps are wonderful. My husband works outside and in the winter his hands always crack and bleed. Since he has started using Di's soaps his hands have healed and he has had no problems with them. Not only do they feel good and make your skin soft they smell wonderful.
