Functionalab Opti-Tan Formula

Beauty comes from within. Or at least that's what our mom told us growing up. So we've been taking our vitamins in the form of Functionalab Opti-Tan Formula ($35). They help our skin maintain a happy, healthy glow all year long without our having to set foot into a fake bake oven. They're good to take during the summer months as well. These little capsules help protect against UV rays and reduce your skin's sensitivity to the sun. Just grab these along with your regularly scheduled birth control in the morning for a strong dose of internal beauty.

These products are DANGEROUS.

At best it's a placebo full of harmless ingredients and does nothing. Middle ground, it contains what it actually claims to, which is an ingredient that can cause crystals to form in the EYES. At worst, it contains whoknowswhat. Liver failure and kidney failure are common side effects of consumption of whoknowswhat.

Remember, nature is full of poisons. Eucalyptus.

Just to be clear, the substance you're referring to and that the FDA warns against because of the kind of eye damage you describe is called canthaxanthin, which was behind the French Bronze scandal in the late 1980s. The ingredients in Opti Tan include: Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid), Gelatin (capsule), Cellulose (bulking/filling agent), Lutein, Vitamin E (as d-Alpha Tocopheryl Succinate), Vegetable Stearate (anti-caking agent), Lycopene, Silica (anti-caking agent), Zeaxanthin, Vitamin A (as Vitamin A Acetate), and Titanium Dioxide (capsule colorant). We found the same list in multiple places and there is no mention of canthaxanthin.
