"Crack creme" may sound like something best sold out of the back of Hustler, but we swear, Zim's Crack Creme ($6) is a godsend for dry, cracked feet. See, by this point in the year, our feet look like scaly hooves from wearing sandals and flats sans socks for months on end. No matter how much regular lotion we put on, or hours we spend sawing with a Ped-Egg, those cracks and crevices never go away. Yuck! Solution? Every night (the fragrance is a bit... erm, strong for daytime), we smooth a thick layer of this onto our feet and slip on a pair of cotton socks. Within a few days, the cracks are disappearing, and soft skin emerges, thanks to a pharmacist-developed formula of arnica and aloe vera. We've also taken to using it on dry, cracked hands and cuticles during frigid winter months. And for $6, you can't beat the value compared to high-end foot creams!
We all have our Holy Grail beauty products, ones we'll buy until the day we die, no matter how expensive they get. Everything else, however, is up for grabs - after all, experimenting is part of the fun of being a girl! (Or guy, we're not judging.) And, yet, who has the money to play around with expensive products willy-nilly in this economy? We sure don't. That's why we enlisted our price savvy amigas over at The Bargainist to help us out on a new feature we're calling Bargain Betty: The best new (and underappreciated standby) budget beauty finds, straight from our medicine cabinets to yours.
