If you've never had the immense pleasure of peering into your liquor cabinet and seeing the beautifully elegant bottle that houses Chambord ($26), you're missing out, kids.
Originating in the Chambord region of France, it's been made by Charles Jacquin Et Cie for about 300 years. Using a triple process of double fruit infusion and extraction, flavor marrying and flavor blending, all that's left is a delicious liqueur.
Made in small batches, fresh hand picked black raspberries are infused in Cognac that has been barrel aged for a minimum of four years. Then spices and fruit extracts are added as well as honey. The resulting flavor combination of cognac, lemon peel and Madagascar vanilla make this cordial like no other.
This liqueur is extremely versatile and dare we say, far too easy to drink. Lucky for us it's light in alcohol strength so our sipping won't get us in too much trouble.
Try it drizzled over ice cream or better yet, in a French Martini. Created by the Chambord liqueur company for world-wide promotion, this cocktail is delicious, refreshing and perfect for your summer night imbibing.
2 oz good quality Vodka
1/2 oz Chambord
2 1/2 oz Pineapple Juice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with raspberries.
Put your super swanky French Martinis in the super swanky and fun Deco - Martini Glasses ($49). With a thick engraved base, you'll be less likely to spill - always a plus!
