We're shopping on retro row in preparation for our antique cocktail party coming up, and we'll be all set with the Assouline's Vintage Cocktails ($32) book safely stashed behind our bar. Nix the guessing game, and get the proportions right for the all the simple classics including the Gin Fizz, Sidecar, Dark and Stormy, Matador, Vesper, Greyhound, Kamikaze, Pimms Cup, Fuzzy Navel, Kir Royale, Sazerac, Presbyterian, Man O War, and much more... We have our eye the Brandy Alexander (It's not just a Feist song, guys.), but we decided to feature the lovely cover drink:
The Bradshaw
2 oz. Don Julio Tequila, Blanco 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 oz. lime juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
1/2 X-rated passion, fruit Infused vodka
Shake all ingredients cigorously with ice. Strain into a martini glass with a hot pink sugared rim. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.
Now all we need is some groovy vintage glasses. Our favorite in retro cocktail glasses are the 60s Silver Rimmed Glasses ($42 / set of four) for their simplistic chicness and the George Briard Blue Cocktail Glasses ($38 / set of six) for their lively burst of color.
