On one of the many stops of her worldwide promotional tour for her new movie, The Wolfman, Emily Blunt wows us again with yet another high-scoring look. This time the actress pairs a summery dress with black tights to create a sophisticated spin on a simple sundress. We're digging the winter white and form-fitting cut of the dress, similar to this Versace Short Sleeve Grommet Dress ($1440), because it's not as intimidating as those strap-happy cocktail numbers we've seen a lot of lately. Unfortunately for us, a dress that expensive is more of a dream than a reality.
Baking with kids can be loads of fun, or drive you a little bit insane, depending on the situation (and the kid). Fiesta has a line of kid-friendly kitchen utensils called Head Chefs ($10 each) which are utensils sprouting out of a bendable colorful body. Whether you get a spoon, spatula, or whisk, you're sure to have something that'll get your young one interested in cooking, or at least give them something to play with while you finish doing all the work.
Yawn. Despite the wine and conversation hearts and cards and teddies of both kinds everywhere, are you just not grooving on the upcoming holiday? We at Outblush tend to think that shopping is an end in and of itself, but if you're not feeling the romance, we can only recommend that you give up trawling the stores for one evening and plop down on the couch with a few flicks that will, in the broader sense, get you in the mood.
The Incredibly True Adventures of 2 Girls in Love - This tomboy/princess romance is funny, sexy, and good-natured, and it was made with more enthusiasm and determination than money - listen to the director's commentary once you've seen it. ($16)
King of Hearts - It's out of print, and it's more Romantic with a capital R than with a small r, but we're telling you to find it anyway, because it's just that good. A comedy about insanity and war that's not insulting - imagine that! ($whatever the person with the used copy feels it's worth)
Train Man - Waiting for the geek to inherit the earth? This sweet film (another small-r romance) about one geeky geek and the elegant young woman he defends from a drunk on a train just might reawaken your belief in love and good intentions. ($22)
Start spoiling that little prince or princess before his/her grand arrival? The Silver Leaf First Year Frame ($59) is a must-have for every family. It is made of wood with a stunning silver-leaf overlay. This incredible frame will store your babies precious memories of their first year in this world. To make this item even more special, it can be personalized with your child's name.

It must be that soft spring color and the fact that our poor toes are dying to get out from these socks and boots, but we're seriously considering dropping the dough for a pair of Tod's High Heel Sandals ($625). The perforated leather and buckle details add a bit of edge to the sweet lavender leather, and we're justifying the purchase because these can be dressed up or down. We'll definitely get plenty of use out of them...once the weather cooperates.
We're loving the Olive Ruffle Cardigan ($91)! It reminds us of a very unique find that you would stumble upon in an eclectic vintage shop or flea market. This olive knit cardi has a ruffle tier back with a v-neck and front pockets. Plus it has a cut out overlap button detail in the back. From the front it looks like an ordinary cardigan, but the back jazzes this basic up!
We know these aren't romantic in the traditional sense, but the Times Square Station 42nd Street Chair ($2200) have a certain nostalgia of place. For a gal who loves graphic design, typology and most importantly, the Big Apple, this furniture choice is snazzy. The real punchiness of New York Metro signage is translated in these lively chairs.
Boris Bally designed - excuse us, "humanfactured" - these chairs where he does everything else - in his Rhode Island art studio. With a foundation in jewelry making his art is meticulous and detailed. The Transit Series, carried at Artful Home, is the most popular of his works, and it touches every corner of home decor. Namely, we're fired up on these floor tiles or his cool plates.
This babe's got it on at the beach, but there's no reason why we can't wear this with some wool tights and a beret? Take this look from summer to winter (or any season for that matter) with a simple swap of accessories and you've got yourself quite a versatile dress! The Scarf-Print Kimono ($33) is our go-to, all-seasons dress de jour.
For those of you who never got over wanting Barbie-bright eye shadow, we present Aromaleigh Retro Hi-Fi Matte Collection Eye Shadows. ($8 each) Twenty shades of highly pigmented, totally matte shadow that goes on smooth, blends easily, and stays on until you take it off. As with all Aromaleigh products, Retro Hi Fi Matte shadows are certified PETA cruelty-free and use only the finest natural ingredients and botanicals, so you can feel good about layering on as much as you like.

The Nymphette Bra ($170) feels like an underthing we'd wear to a New Orleans nightclub on a too hot Friday night. Thanks to sizzling electric blue lace and black French Chantilly lace overlay, this bra is pure luxury. And there's a bow to boot. Obviously, we have a sweetly delicate, but seriously hot number on our hands here.
Face it. It's easier to get your friends to come over for a party than to talk them into going out to dinner to drop $40 each to celebrate. So, it's time to start thinking smart about being the hostess with the mostest and get your party-planning act together. True, we have no aspirations to be the next Martha (gag), but we would like to see our friends more often, so we're taking the valuable tips in Real Simple Celebrations ($19) and putting them to good use.
The pristine flowers on the White Blossom Glo-Canvas ($366) have a special electricity powered photosynthesis that keeps the light in our life... or at least our living room. Illuminating low energy strip lights sit within a built in frame, and we dig the pseudo window feel.
Forget the unfolding towels and shifting throws in yoga class, we want easy comfort. With Fila's Knee Pad Capri ($55) we can get down in the toughest floor work poses without thinking twice. Even the padded portions are stretchy and perfect for moving around, and they fit all heights. We bruise easily and fall often, so these may become a general lounge wear piece for us.
Did you have a pair of these when you were a little girl? Yeah, us too. Ours were white with purple hearts, so not quite as sexy as these Sheer Hearts Tights ($14), but these definitely bring back a fun style (and some memories).
We all know how terrible the nutrition stats are at chain restaurants - lots of dishes clock in at over 1,200 calories, a huge chunk of your daily recommended allotment - but that doesn't change the fact that, say, an Outback Steakhouse Bloomin' Onion is really, really, seriously tasty. Save your waistline and your wallet some grief and delve into the Cook This, Not That! Kitchen Survival Guide ($11.50). Not all the recipes are as low in fat & calories as they could be, but you'll learn how to make imitations of popular restaurant entrees, appetizers, and desserts with far less money and calories. We love the cornmeal-crusted catfish with corn salsa and their take on Cheesecake Factory Warm Apple Crisp. Om nom nom.
See more Eat This, Not That! books.
At first glance, this is just another black dress. The Motel Gladys Dress ($63) has three-quarter sleeves and a decorated neckline. Nothing special, right? Take another look and this time at the back of the dress. The funky gold rope detailing cascades down a deep v-line to reveal an unexpected backside. An element of surprise is always nice to see.
Looking for a last minute gift for your friends, co-workers, or loved one for this weekend's holiday? Grab a Linda & Harriett: Limited Edition Valentine Goody Bag ($26) that comes complete with a notepad, box of notecards, an L&H pencil, and even a reusable little heart bag (to keep in theme with V-Day). You can now send those you care about little love notes or show others how to spread their joy by means of personalized stationary! Either way, you win!
You may have heard that curly hair should never, ever be dried with traditional terrycloth or microfiber towels. Why? The rough texture and overly absorbent nature of these fabrics roughens the delicate curly hair shaft and dries it out. To preserve the natural shape and hold of your twirly locks, give Curls Like Us Curl Cloths ($24) a try. Made of a special tee shirt-like fabric, they're designed to gently dry hair and give you shinier, smoother, more frizz-free curls. You may even find yourself using less hair product!

Got a big space on your wall that needs filling? Running out of ideas or wall art that suits your personality? Try this Three Votive Mirror Set ($75) to add some sophisticated and stylish flair to any room. The three-piece set can be separated or hung together, but we prefer an asymmetrical look like the one shown in the picture. Whichever you choose, we promise you'll be enjoying the added opportunities you have to glance at yourself.
We can carry an entirely new gaggle of friends in our pockets with the Bellissima Compact Mirrors ($30). These embellished acrylic guys are secretive mirrors with a sliding front panel that reveals the mirror face. Choose from eight different designs; personally, we like the elephant and the horsey.
Plan your next night out, girls! The DKNY Sequined Georgette Bustier ($275) is a gorgeous piece to pair with your favorite skinny jeans or liquid leggings. It offers casually cool cocktail style with an 80's feel.
Bee-stung lips without the a) stinging and itching, or b) surgical injections of scary toxic chemicals? Sign us up! Lucy B Fresh Juice Lip Glosses ($18 each) promise a sultry pout without the ouch factor. Five exotic flower extracts naturally plump lips without damaging effects, but our favorite part is the intense shine and confidence-boosting colors. Available in five hues.

We don't need frills and flounce for beautiful home decor, and the pine scale adorned Rexford Mirror ($Inquire) has extravagant natural flair. Without an ounce of pomp, this mirror references classic polish but has mother earth appeal. Bringing in a bit of the California forest into our homes sounds like a great idea.
Just in time for Valentine's Day! What better way to say it...if, of course, you have a sugar daddy. The Love Shopping Card ($5) is a two-color letterpress printed on 100% cotton paper. And best of all? The card reads: I LOVE YOU because you let me go shopping. It's also blank inside, so you can further explain... or possibly ask for a loan.
You know we'd be flashing our butt at our boyfriends all the time if we owned this Flirty Mesh Bikini ($13). Having an ass that nice wouldn't hurt, either...
Although chambray and oversized mens' blazers may remind you (in a bad way) of mid-90's fashion, they're back, and better 'n ever. Kill two trends with one stone in Arden B.'s Chambray Boyfriend Blazer ($59) for a look that won't have people asking if you're a Blossom fan. The fit is loose, but tailored enough to pass at work paired with a dress - just, don't, we beg of you, try to find matching chambray pants. *shudder*
Valentine's Day: it strikes fear into the hearts of kids with crushes and married-fifty-years types alike. Why? It's just a day... Okay, a day fraught with overblown expectations and way too many stereotypes. That's why, this year, we're presenting gift ideas that will really mean something to the recipient and show them that you appreciate them for them. Over the next few weeks, we'll be suggesting gifts for the special someone in your life, whether they're the hunkamunk coworker you lust over from afar, your BFF, your new sweetie pie, or the sweet schmuck you've lived with for three years.
Mom and Dad: Valentine's Day certainly isn't just about romantic love. Take the opportunity to let the two people who've loved you since the moment you opened your wee eyes know how much you love them right back. You can relive the glory days of elementary school art classes and draw them a picture of a Pegasus with heart-shaped wings on a paper plate or treat them to something special they wouldn't spring for on their own. The great thing about parents is that they'll glow upon receiving either a DIY present or something luxurious just because it came from you.
Dream Big: Build a date for them. You know what they like to do together or could certainly come up with something they'd love to do and never have. Get them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant, or pick one up from Restaurant.com and let them choose for themselves. But don't stop there - keep the evening going with tickets to something you know they would both enjoy - a comedian that cracks them both up, a show or play you think they'd get a kick out of, a round of laser tag, or an exclusive wine and cheese tasting. While they're out drop off a box of their favorite sweets at their house with a note from you (or that Pegasus paper plate) - it'll be the perfect ending to a wonderfully romantic evening and they will revel in every second of it.
Doable: If you're pockets aren't deep enough for something so elaborate don't fret - you can still play cupid just keep it on a smaller scale. Turn their dining room into a five-star restaurant. Fix them an astoundingly delicious meal yourself; if you'd like to recruit your sweetheart or siblings as servers it will make them feel even more spoiled. Still splurge on that box of Italian cookies from their favorite bakery or a dozen chocolate éclairs. Put a CD of sweet and tender songs you made on top of the box and leave quietly after you clear the dinner dishes. And you will have spent one evening doing for your parents what they did for you their entire lives - made them feel loved, appreciated, and wanted.
Ladies and gents, our Guest Blogger dedicated to the finer things in life is back! Danae Kelly from Lovely Particulars "work[s] hard during the day to make sure people can walk around in shoes that are as good for their souls as they are for their feet" - She must've heard about our dangerous shoe addiction. Everyone needs a little emotional pick me up once in a while, and her daily-updated blog makes us happy. Keep checking back for delightful commentary on pink drinks, sassy shoes, a thought-provoking movie, or something else our heart desires... This is the season of love, people.
Even if you don't know a Calder from a Picasso, everyone appreciates intriguing bits of art. The Abstract Mobile ($20) captures the shapes and colors of the work of Alexander Calder and is small enough to fit into the corner of whatever room needs whimsical inspiration. Best of all, this mobile comes without without the million dollar price tag that usually comes with artistic genius. It'll add instant color and fun and is a guaranteed conversation piece.
Yeah, we know, this is the second elephant today. If we were going to overanalyze, we might say we overindulged at the Superbowl party, or that our work load is immense, or that we've been listening to too much Fleetwood Mac, but really, we just like elephants and we found two fun ones today. This Vitra Nelson Elephant Clock ($150) would be adorable in a kid's room, but it's not too juvenile to be used in a home office - which is exactly where we're putting ours.
At first glance, Siman Tu Heart Earrings ($300) look like crystal-encrusted rococo dangles. But, on closer inspection, the loops are actually intertwined hearts... Aww. Now this is heart jewelry that we'd actually wear.
