Samantha Irby's "We Are Never Meeting in Real Life" + 4 More Things We Love This Week
We Are Never Meeting in Real Life
Looking for a summer book that's easy to pick up in stops and starts? I swear by essay compilations. They make it a breeze to read a few pages at a time without having to commit to a 350-plus page plot. My current favorite is We Are Never Meeting in Real Life, a collection of witty, laugh-out-loud essays by blogger and NTY contributor Samantha Irby. You know you've found your new BFF when her opening essay is a fictional application to become the next Bachelorette and she lists her hobbies as "eating sacks, sleeping during the day, [and] scrolling through Facebook quickly enough that people's stupid videos don't start playing automatically..." The book only get better from there!
Marina Mosaic Crochet Dress
Ooh la la, this Marina Mosaic Crochet Dress from Ted Baker sure is showy! In the best sense of the word, of course. The peek through crochet panels at the waist and hem add a bit of playfulness to an otherwise conservative silhouette. I'm also tickled by the pastel print that trickles down to a bold blue near the bottom. You could easily add a cute pair of flats and a bright floral purse to this ensemble and wear it to a wedding or baby shower, or a garden luncheon.
Tulum Bedford Helena Wallet
Confession time! My wallet is so old and so worn out that I'm embarrassed to pull it out of my purse every time I need to pay for something. It's high time I invest a bit in a new, grown-up lady, leather wallet. Mz Wallace's Tulum Bedford Helena Wallet has my attention. I like that the print is fun and bold, while the inside is all business. It's got plenty of space to hold onto the trillion store preferred customer cards I own, a zippered pouch for loose change, and a roomy bill area (that will probably remain empty because I spend cash as fast as I take it out of the bank).
Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask
If only eating one's weight in watermelon on a regular basis would yield results of dewy, glowing skin. I mean, you can give it a try, but it seems more realistic to order the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask from Glow Recipe. You'll still get to inhale that fresh, sweet watermelon scent as you layer the mask on your skin before bed. Sleep in it I promise it won't rub off or stain your sheets — and rinse your face the next morning. You'll be stunned at how great your skin looks. With regular use, dark spots fade, pores seem to shrink, and wrinkles vanish — all you'll be left with is a super soft, even complexion.
Floral Paisley Swimsuit
Not a size 2? Me neither! That shouldn't mean that we get only ugly, skirt-style swimsuits as beachwear options. Unsurprisingly, Target has an excellent selection of affordable suits for all body types. This Floral Paisley Swimsuit has a modern print, a flattering cut, and a sexy cutout back. It's also well under $50, leaving you wiggle room for a second suit or a fun straw sun hat and shades.
