6 Tips on How to Get Your Date Night Beauty Look
You've got your date night outfit all picked out? Now all that's left is knowing how to nail the ultimate beauty look.
1. Go easy on the false eyelashes
False lashes are a wonderful way to accentuate your eyes, but they can also be distracting if overdone. Instead, keep the look simple: all you need is a great mascara and a lash curler.
Which brings us to our next point ...
2. Keep it natural
Having natural makeup doesn't mean no makeup at all, instead, it means staying away from the bold eyeshadows and the heavy winged eyeliner and opting for nude colors. Keep your foundation lightweight, and to add to the natural effect, create a dewy glow by applying a liquid highlighter underneath your foundation.
If a more dramatic look is your style, finish off the natural look with a deep plum or rich red lipstick.
3. Take good care of your lips
Hopefully, you'll be getting in on some kissing action at the end of the date, but regardless, it's important to take good care of your pout. Before applying lipstick ensure that you wipe away all the dead skin from your lips with a soft, wet cloth. If your lips are very dry, apply a lip balm or a moisturizer prior to application.
When applying your lipstick always blot with a tissue first, and then apply a second coat.
4. Fragrance is a great finishing touch
Choosing the right perfume is also part of your beauty routine and it's a great finishing touch. Just remember not to go overboard because you don't want your date to faint. A great tip for wearing fragrance is to apply it to your pulse points, behind your ears, your inner temple and the hollow of your neck (but use it sparingly).
5. Don't forget your nails (but again, keep it simple)
Pamper yourself with a manicure, but instead of going all out with bedazzles, glitter and nail art, keep it simple with a nude polish, a classic red or a french manicure.
6. Don't go overboard with your hairstyle
Forget heavily gelled looks or ones that require half the bottle of hairspray to keep in place and instead opt for a simple braid, a pretty bun updo or create wavy curls.
