Anna Wintour is a name well-known in the fashion world: she's the editor-in-chief of arguably the world's most prestigious fashion magazine; she's been the inspiration behind events, collections, and even movies (like "The Devil Wears Prada"). So, it's really not surprising that the fashion world has learned a thing or two from her.
Wintour knows exactly what she's doing when it comes to fashion and the latest trends, and this is what we've learned from her:

Trends aren't everything:
You'll never catch Anna Wintour in a hoodie, and slouchy pants are a no-no, because her personal style is much more classic. Over the years we've learned that she actually really hates trends and prefers simple yet sophisticated cuts like blazers and pencil skirts, midi dresses with nipped waists, and conservative necklines.

The lesson? Classic, feminine pieces are so much better than trends. It's also important to have a personal style.

Say 'yes' to color: This one is a bit surprising, but Anna Wintour would never wear head-to-toe black, which has taught us that sometimes it's necessary to break away from our fashion comfort zones and embrace change: Don't be afraid to diversify your wardrobe with colors and the seasons latest prints.

Do invest in a great coat: Wintour is a big fan of coats. In fact, while her style is usually reserved and classic, she tends to make all her statements with her outerwear and has more bright, bold coats than we could ever hope to own.

The lesson here is that you should always invest in great outerwear, it's the easiest way to make a statement.

Dress for your age: While that statement may seem ageist, the reality is that when we pass a certain age (usually around the 40 mark) there are some pieces in our wardrobe that need to be retired, but that's not to say that you can't still be incredibly chic. Wintour is a woman who has shown us that you can dress well, well into your sixties and that some trends just don't apply.

It's important to be neat: There is never a time when Anna Wintour looks out of place. Her clothes are always clean and immaculately put together. Even the most basic outfit can look fashionable if it's the correct fit and carefully put together.

Logo's are a big no: Wintour is against bold, obvious logos, and prefers wearing discreet pieces, a lesson we think is a valuable one. Logos tend to date clothing, and while they've enjoyed popularity in recent seasons (thanks to the athleisure trends), wearing logo-less clothing is a much smarter and more sophisticated way to wear clothing.
